What a fantastic game of rugby today, played in the best of spirits against a strong Garnock team, with the Killie boys running out 52-12 victors
From the off the Garnock team put the boys under pressure, and with some frantic plays the Killie boys put themselves under pressure (a theme that continued throughout the day) but when they composed themselves they started to score tries and stretch into the lead with some individual line breaks but also some great support play leading to a number of tries.
The big Garnock pack ran out of steam in the second half and the Killie boys stretched the lead, albeit Garnock scored two late consolation tries before Killie ran in the last try to end the game - well done to all 19 of the match squad, it was a tough game but all the boys played well.
Well done to all today, securing second place in the league, means we are guaranteed cup competition after Christmas break, but before that it’s a home game against Greenock next week.
