Kilmarnock hosted 3rd in the table Dalziel at Bellsland in game 5 of Reserve West 3. Dalziel kicked off with the wind at their back and immediately put Killie under pressure and with on 3 minutes on the clock they scored a well worked try under the posts, the conversion was missed leaving Killie trailing by 5 points to 0. Kilmarnock kicked off and secured possession, Craig Hunter made a good inside break but unfortunately the final pass didn't go to hand and the chance was lost. Killie kept Dalziel under pressure and it finally paid off with Ross Fitsimmons darting in at the corner Graham McCue knocked over the conversion to put Killie into a deserved lead after 18 minutes of play. Killlie tails were now up and another good break by Craig Hunter and a well timed pass to Graham McCue let him score under the post to increase the lead to 12 points to 5. The rest of the half was played out the the middle of the pitch with both teams having a few chances to score but neither were able to convert.
Killie turned around and immediately put Dalziel under pressure and it was no surprize when John Brown ghosted in to the right of the posts McCue knocked over the conversion to increase Killie's lead to 19 points to 5. Killie kept Dalziel under pressure by using the wind the forwards were beginning to win more and more possession with Dalziel pack tiring and a well worked move allowed Craig Lawless to nip over in the corner again McCue knocked over the conversion from the touchline, Killie now had a commanding 26 point to 5 lead with 15 minutes still to play.
Killie continued to press and it was surprize when John Brown scored again from another well worked move the conversion was missed 31 -5 with less than 5 minutes to play. Killie were keen to score more point and in the final play of the match scored a well worked try wide out of the left through Ross Fitzimmons again McCue converted from the touchline final score 38 points to 5 for a solid bonus point victory.
